Banting is a recently adopted name for a low carbohydrate (Low Carb Healthy Fat - LCHF) or KETOgenic diet. This is not a diet, it's a lifestyle, there is no going back to the old way once you have discovered the great benefits of Banting. Most diets fail, there are very few people who have succeeded to loose weight and managed to actually keep it off. Hunger takes over and the lost weight comes back. Our bodies are not made to eat the junk food that we eat today. Bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, soft drinks, fruit juices, sweets, pastries, pies are all foods that are high in carbohydrates and starches that cause spikes in insulin production, and in the end gets stored as fat. Carbohydrates and sugars trick our brains' hunger signals into thinking we are still hungry, and when we don't eat the nutrition we need, we still feel hungry, or we will get hungry soon after we ate.

There is a solution to getting your health back and going back to normal weight, not by eating pills and medicine, but by simply eating real food. This lifestyle is about eating food that will keep you full for hours, it's about eating healthy fats like olive oil, coconut oil, butter, cream, full fat cheeses and yogurts, animal fats, lots of vegetables such as leafy greens, avocados, mushrooms, onions, broccoli and cauliflower, while avoiding starchy vegetables like potatoes, root vegetables, and stop eating sugar of any kind including fruit juices and certain fruits, as well as grains like wheat and corn, and seed oils; sunflower, grapeseed, corn oil, soya oil canola, these are all highly processed and toxic. Stick to butter, coconut oil, olive oil and avocado oil.
